The days are short/The sun a spark/Hung thin between/The dark and dark. –John Updike

January sunshine in Wisconsin is elusive. But when it does occur, it prompts long winter walks.

Here in Boston it’s raining, but looking at these pictures is enough to make me wish for a ten-degree drop in temperature.

It’s February 23rd; cabin fever has set in. I’m ready for the crisp days to give way to balmy winds and blooms.

But looking at these snapshots reminds me of the beauty of Winter.

How lovely to have four seasons!

I’ve often thought I wouldn’t fare well in a city where the seasons aren’t distinct.

As Bing and co. say in White Christmas, “what is Christmas with no…snow?”
