A long overdue update!

Hi Everyone,

Claire and I have been knee deep in work, but I’ve got a moment to catch up on some happenings, so here goes nothing!

Sarah came to visit us in March during her spring break, and it was great having her here. We did our best to peel ourselves away from our studies long enough to have some fun times, and we did, too. On Saturday when she was here we went to Concord, MA. We started at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, but saw no sign of Ichabod Crane. We did see the graves of Thoreau, Emerson, Louisa May Alcott, and Nathaniel Hawthorne, as well as lots of other old Massachusettsers. Next up was the Old Manse, a house where many famous writers lived, and the North Bridge. That’s where “the shot heard ’round the world” was fired. It’s really cool to have been right there! Pics below.

On Sunday, we went and checked out Beacon Hill, somewhere downtown we hadn’t been yet. It was a nice place, and the chocolates we got at Beacon Hill Chocolates were extra nice. Delicious dark chocolate caramels with sea salt on top. Mmmm…

The girls also made their way to Sweet while Sarah was here. Sweet is a cupcake shop downtown that sells cute, delicious gourmet cupcakes. I’ve been with Claire once, and the chocolate ganache cupcake I had was incredible. I didn’t know I liked ganache that much! In any case, there are more pics below of that experience as well.

All in all, it was really fun to have Sarah around, and we were sad to see her go. But hopefully she’ll be back again soon!

On a totally unrelated topic, Lucy has started crawling under the covers with us in bed. It’s quite adorable, as she’ll wiggle under, turn around and stick just her nose out, and then commence purring the entire time she’s under. So cute! Yes. Yes we are cat crazy.
